In efforts to contribute to the spreading of the UNESCO sprit, that is,
to attain international peace and promote the welfare of humankind, the
ACCU Nara Office is implementing the gACCU International Exchange Programme.h
This is achieved by utilising gThe UNESCO/Japan Funds-in-Trust for the
Promotion of International Cooperation and Mutual Understandingh through
the support of Japanese government. The objective of this programme is
to offer training and exchange opportunities for high school, college students,
and teachers, as well as experts involved in UNESCO-related activities
from UNESCO member countries, primarily from the Asia-Pacific region.
In order to foster a better understanding of Japanese cultural heritage
protection system, and to deepen international goodwill and mutual understanding,
the ACCU Nara Office invites young leaders engaged in cultural heritage
protection to participate in extensive training and exchange programmes
(involving lectures, practical training, open seminars, school visits etc).
¦ In 2009, this exchange programme is replaced by one of ACCU Invitation
Programme for International Educational Exchange of Teachers and Professionals
gScholars and Professionals Invitation Projectsh.
