On Saturday, 14 June, a World Heritage Class was held at the Nara Girls' High School for 23 students.
We invited freelance announcer and ”World Heritage enthusiast”, Ms Kubo Michiyo, to lecture about the establishment of the World Heritage system.
It was the first lecture at this school, and before the lecture, first-year students gave group presentations on "Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara (Great Buddha of Todaiji Temple) and the SDGs" and exchanged opinions with the lecturer.
The students interest in World Heritage Sites and active engagement in the lecture was very impressive.
