ACCU Nara at WE ARE SITE MANAGERS INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM

Between 1-5 March 2024, 160 Site Managers, heritage practitioners and organisations from 37 countries gathered in George Town, Malaysia to discuss, debate and deliver their experiences, issues and needs in the field, and pave the way forward in the World Heritage Site Management through the “George Town Declaration”.
ACCU Nara was invited as a speaker to share the collaboration opportunities and capacity-building programmes in heritage conservation and management with the site manager communities in Asia and the Pacific region.
We were given the floor to introduce the content and organisation of all ACCU training courses and talk about the aims and outcomes of our work. It was an incredible opportunity for us to learn the issues and needs of site managers, connect with wonderful people and meet the old members of the ACCU Nara family.
A huge thank you and shoutout to George Town World Heritage Incorporated for tremendous work, planning and executing this enormous event. We sincerely hope to see many site managers present at this Symposium as participants of our training courses.
